Romancing
the depths - February 2011
Many turn
their noses up at the notion of having a
holiday for lovers, feeling they’re forced
to focus on something that they’d rather do
on their own schedule, when the notion
strikes, later.
Does
later come in your world?
I’ve been
working with couples for over 30 years and
there are many great changes afoot, a deeper
loving is being discovered by those who are
engaging more fully with the possibilities
of conscious relationships.
Is this
deep and rich loving arriving in your life?
For most the
journey of authentic intimacy begins with a
gnawing hunger for MORE. Whether
people have been married for decades or
dating for a couple of years I hear the same
story; we rarely connect, our romance
doesn’t carry the zing, the rush, pizzazz it
did early on.
Most people
don’t want to hear this, but with a great
deal of compassion I will tell you that the
zing you felt at the beginning, usually the
first 3 months of dating, is a flim-flam
concoction to begin with. It’s a big rush of
hormonal projections and expectations
crafted with unfulfilled needs from our
childhood conditioning and the biological
impulse to breed.
Sorry.
And there is more.
Fortunately
this level of delusional smoke screen is
short-lived, the actual person begins to
emerge from behind the dating mask. But
unfortunately most folks will not look for a
deeper path with the old flame, but will go
out looking for that rush again, telling
themselves that there is someone out there
who WILL be able to maintain the rush for
me. After all, isn’t that what love is?
Well, no
and sort of...
There
actually is a profound and resonant power
that one experiences viscerally when we open
to genuine intimacy in the midst of the
energy of love. That first flush may
actually be a tease, a hint about what is
available when we evolve beyond our
conditioning and allow our souls to commune.
People of all
ages have recently begun seeking
spirit-based relationships which cultivate
this depth and coherence of deep connection.
This is not some kind of an ideologically
based, floaty script of a holy relationship.
No, this
is an embodied, grounded, and expanding art
form, an energetic expression of our inner
self, our soul.
The energy of
spirit flowing through us is deeply
conscious, passionate, intense, uplifting
and fully engaging. It rocks us, heart and
soul. We are touched, seen, fully accepted
and cherished. These experiences of inner
communion, especially when shared with our
Beloved, expand us and bring real richness
and power into our lives. Sacred loving is
an art that transforms us into our best
possible selves. These resonances of deep
loving naturally engender Wholeness, within
ourselves and within everything in our local
universe.
So, a
day for celebrating lovers? Yes,
please, the sooner the better; can we start
now? Let me hold you; merge with me
for a moment. Siiiigh… And also this now,
come kiss me again. Again, now
please. Mmmmph… Let me look into your eyes
and breathe you into my heart, my soul, now
honey. Aaaahhhh, thank you!!

Seeding
life force, harvesting
passion
 
I adore the spring,
passionate life force
bursting into an orgy of
creation. I feel compelled
to kick off my shoes and
wade into the garden where
moist soil offers me its
carpet of tiny weeds woven
into the colors of vibrant
pansies, tiny violets and
voluptuous hellebores. The
energies of the colors,
textures, the potent beauty
all call me into my senses
and into this very precious
moment and I breathe it in,
ahhhh yes. Hello mamma
earth! I have so longed
for your touch, your
sweetness and vibrant
beauty. My heart swells with
appreciation.
My breath deepens and a
pulsing connection begins
vibrating in my legs and
spirals up thru my body,
showering out my head and
spilling down. Breath
quickens. My whole
energy/body system is
pulsating and the energy
keeps moving. It rains down
below my feet and spirals up
again, around my chakras,
and down, over and over.
YES! I feel the
earth's passion reminding me
to plant so there may be an
ecstasy of fulfillment.

Lots and Lots and Lots of Hugs
 
Imagine a couple dozen
twinkle-eyed, courageous
people wandering onto
Greenlake with signs in
their hands, some wearing a
sign printed across their
t-shirt, Free Hugs!
It's
noon on a cloudy Seattle
Valentine's Day and
threatens rain, but you
don't see any umbrellas
among these huggers. They
had instructions to talk
with the weather Devas and
imagine an opening of blue
sky over the lake from noon
to three.
And there it is,
shining on these bold,
indiscriminate lovers of
humanity,
and their pets.
We congratulate each other
and secretly wonder if we
really did have an effect
on the blue sky, if it
will remain till 3.
After hugging lessons on
style, connection and the
energy of genuine acceptance
we wander out around the
lake. The first response is
mixed, walkers stare and
wonder, runners are rattled,
and dogs are offered up for
hugging. Then, it
happens. Folks start coming
toward us babbling their
wonder,
are you doing an
experiment?, are you from a
church? OHHH
you're doing the global free
hug thing. Sure, I'd love a
hug!
And then it began to catch
fire, whole families lined
up for hugs, babies in
strollers got hugs, women
offered up their husbands~he
needs a hug! Runners
held out a flying hi-five or
mused that their run had
gone amuck but they're
collecting some great hugs!
Valentine's wishes were
flying, St. Valentino was
even saluted. All kinds of
hugs: big swaying hugs, some
look-you-in-your-eyes hugs,
sighing hugs, sweaty hugs,
sweep-you-off-your-feet
hugs, grateful hugs, and
lots of very happy hugs.
LOTS
of hugs, about 2-3 HUNDRED
per hugger, let's see that's
24X250... And,
yes, precisely at 3pm the
blue sky started covering
over and tiny raindrops
began to fall! I had a
huggers high that lasted
all week, my cells were
tingling and I couldn't get
the silly grin off my face.
A great blessing all around.
We're

to teach

amazed by what

a regular basis.
Like this
morning when I
got a note from
Germany, the
first I've heard
from them.
They'd like a
radio interview
to keep their
listeners
inspired. It
seems the
station is
offering a car
to whoever can
kiss it the
longest! How did
they know I love
my old BMW?? Of
course I'll
cheer them on!

Summer is
arriving in a
couple of weeks
bringing its
fullness of
bloom and fruit.
My own
excitement and
focus has been
shifting to the
new classes I'm
offering this
summer, so
the first Monday
meditation group
is being put on
the back burner.
The
meditation monthly
may return in the fall by
request (of either you or my
guides!). If you're a fan of
the First Monday circle and
would like to attend in the
fall let me know and we'll
see if it works to resume
again. It's been great, I've

I'll leave you with one of my
favorite exercises from class.
Keep in mind that left eye (feminine
side of the brain/body) gazing
cultivates connection, right eye
cultivates competition. Practice
with each other, then take this with
you out into the world and cultivate
connections everywhere!

Intentional gazing is a
wonderful practice for building
a depth of connection and trust
between lovers. Practice often,
whenever you feel a desire to
reconnect. By deeply seeing your
beloved, and being seen by them,
you're energetically weaving
yourself into each other,
cultivating Oneness.
Position yourselves so that you
may look easily into each
other's eyes. Allow your
attention to focus mostly in
your left eye. Gaze into each
other's left eye. Breathe deeply
in synch with each other. After
five minutes, alternate
breathing patterns so that one
of you is exhaling while the
other is receiving that breath
on their inhalation. Trade
breath, energy, love and awe.
